At Amanda Holder Events, we have a motto called GSD or “Get S*** Done.” For us, it means that no matter what kind of obstacle arises before, during, or after the event, we will always get the job done and make sure everything is perfect for our clients.

When we first met Kym Showers, 1.) We thought she was FABULOUS and 2.) We knew she was also someone who follows the GSD motto. Kym is a life coach for women over 40; she teaches women how to thrive in the second half of their lives, and she is damn good at it. Essentially, teaching her clients how to GSD in their own lives in order to create a life they love! (This also happens to be Amanda’s personal life motto: Create the Life You Love to Live).

Part of Kym’s coaching experience is a three-day retreat in Avila Beach called the Dream Big Retreat. We were so excited to help design, plan and manage her debut event! Our very own Shea designed the invitation suite, signage, and the swag Kym gifted her coaching clients!

The first day began with a welcome reception at the Avila Lighthouse Suites, where everyone got to meet and dine together, courtesy of Chef’s Table Catering, before the real work began.

The second day consisted of two three-hour group sessions in the Avila Lighthouse Suites’ banquet room, where the focal point was a spectacular balloon display by Glitz and Gather, and Kym, of course! The day ended with a sunset dinner for the group at Kym’s Shell Beach home, catered by SLO Provisions.

The last day of the retreat consisted of a morning walk on the beach and two more three-hour sessions before heartfelt goodbyes. Cheers to all of these amazing women for going out into the world and absolutely crushing the second half of their lives!
