Lauren had a special connection to this one, so we let her write a very special blog…
Danika and Kody met at Cal Poly through mutual friends, and even lived in the same room of the same house at different times! Danika grew up in Ventura, California, while Kody was born and raised in the enchanting little town of Parkfield, where their wedding took place.
After speaking to them, anyone could see they are the most fun and down-to-earth couple, which shined through in every aspect of their wedding.
There are so many special aspects and new experiences we were able to gain throughout this wedding, but something that made this wedding extra special for me was that I was also working part-time at Victoria’s Secret with Danika as my manager!
This wedding gave us the new and special opportunity to piece together a beautiful ceremony and reception on Kody’s family’s ranch in Parkfield, California, just east of Bradley.
The day started when our team went in to begin setup on tables and chairs. Vendors began to show up, lighting was placed, the decor and tables were arranged, and we were finally able to start the festivities!
Danika and Kody said their “I do’s” in such a special way: through the ceremony arch, guests were able to see the hill where Kody proposed to Danika a few months prior. The rest of the ceremony went beautifully, and then we invited guests in for cocktail hour with Cork Mobile Bartending serving up drinks. Dinner was served by Rib Line, and thanks to connections through Kody’s parents, all the meat was provided by Harris Ranch! After dinner, dancing ensued, and guests were able to watch the infamous garter toss. What we loved about this wedding was the twist they put on it: Danika hid a signed football under her dress for her sports-loving husband to find and throw to the next lucky bachelor.
Guests then danced the night away under the moonlight and the brisk night ended on a beautiful note as things wrapped up and guests departed.
