Flying Caballos Ranch | San Luis Obispo Event Designer | Amanda Holder’s Bridal Shower

It was Kentucky Derby Day at Flying Caballos Ranch to celebrate the marriage of our beloved leader, Amanda. The bridal shower was organized by Maid of Honor, Martha, who also happens to be her Mom. Bridesmaid and bartender, Colleen, had mixed two special cocktails, a Pimm’s Cup, as well as the traditional Mint Julep. And Bridesmaid, Kate, supplied the non-alcoholic beverages. To carry out the theme, Bridesmaid, Nikki, impressed everyone with her beautiful florals, and also provided guests with a chance to create their own Derby hats. The ladies then modeled their creations, and a prize was given to Becca, owner of La Lomita Ranch (Amanda’s wedding venue), for the best design. Lunch was a delicious array of sandwiches, bacon-wrapped dates, deviled eggs and various other goodies from SLO Provisions and everyone enjoyed mini cupcakes from Seabreeze for dessert. After lunch it was race time! The participants were given adorable stick horses which they raced down the lawn in preliminary heats. A final raced produced the eventual winner, “Mady Longlegs,” and prizes and trophies were given out to the four finalists. To make the race more authentic, guests were allowed to bet on the horses and were rewarded with monetary prizes for their efforts. Kudos to Bridesmaid, Janet, for designing and executing all the beautiful things, and to Rachell who outdid herself with beautiful signs throughout the venue. Bridesmaid, Yvonne, perfectly captured the event in her photographs. We’re all looking forward to the wedding next!
